PAINTINGS

1998 - 2001

A LIFE ONE

A LIFE TWO

In 1994 Christopher began working on his biggest Series to date which at last count numbered over two hundred paintings and they have been shown either as single pieces or as a Collection at venues around the country. The paintings have now been sold around the world to the USA, Japan, the United Kingdom, South Africa and they have picked up many awards and featured in many publications. THE DESERT PAINTINGS were first shown at an Exhibition at the Gary Myers Gallery in Maleny, later at ALL HALLOWS SCHOOL, Broken Hill, and the Valerie Cohen Gallery in Sydney. The paintings have also been shown at Gallery 2, Main Street Gallery, and have appeared in many books and Magazines. Paintings like 'SHUT THE BLOODY GATE' , and 'BUS STOP'' continue to excite the public.

Christopher was commissioned to Design and install in conjunction with Jeremy Clifford a Stained Glass Window at ALL HALLOWS SCHOOL. During this period he worked on a number of smaller Series including THE AUSTRALIANS from which the Broken Hill Gallery purchased THE NEW WHITE STALLION. In 1999-200 he exhibited GENESIS and in 1999 started a Series THE REBELS which was abandoned. Most of the GENESIS Series was sold in Japan and the finished paintings from the REBELS sold locally including MR BLIGH'S DRAWING OF A FISH at left. Many of the drawings from the AUSTRALIANS have been kept and the Series will reappear one day.

In October 2001 Christopher began a new Series A LIFE (The Early Years), with plans to continue more paintings later on. The first part covering the years 1939-1952 went on Show at GALLERY 2 and was opened by the Artist's friend, Art Critic and Author Michael J Richards. The Series then moved to THE WENTWORTH GALLERY in Sydney in September 2002 and then was Exhibited at the Regional Gallery in Stanthorpe in 2003. The paintings were later shown at Main Street Gallery in Montville and then back to Gallery 2.

A LIFE TWO ( The Restless Years ), was first shown at the MAIN STREET GALLERY in July 2003 at Montville. This second part of the Series coveres the years 1952 - 1970 including the Artist's friendship with Jon Molvig, his own youth and his family's move to a farm (see left), on the outskirts of Brisbane. The last painting of the Series WHITE HATS leads into any further Series on this subject which may appear. The Series was then shown at CWM GALLERIES in Brisbane and Sydney.
